How to take your own measurements

When you take your measurements, the tape should not be loose, but at the same time, don’t pull it so tight that it alters your measurements! It is best to take measurements when you are wearing underwear - bulky clothes will add inches!

I recommend tying a belt or similar around your waist so that the waist position remains the same in relation to your other measurements.

measure around the widest part of your bust, making sure the tape measure doesn’t droop down at the back!

Sleeve length

this is taken from the top of the outside arm, just at the edge of the shoulder, down to the desired position on your wrist.

Inside Leg

This measurement is taken from the top of the CROTCH down the inside of the leg to the ankle bone.

measure around the narrowest part of your waist. This should be between the bottom of your ribcage and the top of your pelvis bone.

measure around the widest part of your hips, including your bottom. We measure this at 8”/20cm down from the waist.

Nape to waist / hem

This measurement is taken from the nobbly bone at the top of your spine, down to your waist, and likewise to the hem for dress length.

Measuring your own body can be a little tricky at times, so do get a friend to help if you think you need it!
